Samedi 17 mai, la Nuit européenne des musées fête ses 10 ans. Participant chaque année à cette manifestation européenne qui permet au public d’investir les lieux culturels en France et en Europe, les musées de Montpellier Agglomération proposent cette année encore une programmation inédite à partir de 19h. Au musée Fabre, la soirée se déroulera sur le thème de « La beauté et le noir au fil des collections permanentes ».
Les équipes sportives soutenues par Montpellier Agglomération ont sur leur calendrier un week-end chargé et des rendez-vous décisifs pour certaines.
En rugby, samedi à 16h30, le MHR joue à Lille une demi-finale de championnat de France de Top 14 contre Castres. Avec la perspective, en cas de victoire, d'une nouvelle finale le 30 mai au stade de France. A noter que les supporters pourront suivre la rencontre depuis le parvis du stade Yves-du-Manoir où un écran géant sera installé.
Philippe Saurel, le président de Montpellier Agglomération, a annoncé ce mercredi 14 mai lors d'une conférence de presse in situ que le projet de musée de l'histoire de la France en Algérie (MHFA) porté par ses prédécesseurs était abandonné.
L'Hôtel Montcalm, bâtiment du XVIIIe siècle situé à côté de la gare Saint-Roch, qui devait accueillir ce musée sera, à la place, transformé en Centre d'Art Contemporain. Son ouverture est programmée en juin 2016.
Ce mercredi 7 mai 2014, les élus du conseil communautaire de Montpellier Agglomération étaient réunis en séance extraordinaire. Un seul thème figurait à l'ordre du jour : la mise en place d'une régie publique de l'eau. Dans la délibération, il était notamment proposé au vote des élus d'adopter le principe d'une gestion en régie du service public de l'eau potable et de l'eau brute à compter du 1er janvier 2016.
Ce matin, Philippe Saurel, Président de Montpellier Agglomération, Maire de la Ville de Montpellier, a présenté le lancement des travaux de bouclage de la ligne 4 de tramway, de la place Edouard Adam à la place Albert 1er, qui fera ainsi le tour du centre-ville de Montpellier.

Vendredi 2 et samedi 3 mai 2014, Le Festival International des très courts s'invite au Cinéma Gaumont de Montpellier Odysseum !
C'est un événement sans frontières, avec des projections durant 9 jours en simultané dans près de cent villes en France et dans 23 autres pays. Le programme phare du festival, c'est la compétition internationale, une cinquantaine de films de moins de 3 minutes (hors titre et générique) représentant le meilleur et surtout le plus court de la production audiovisuelle mondiale de l'année.
Le jeudi 15 mai à Grabels, Montpellier Agglomération propose, en partenariat avec Emmaüs, une nouvelle grande collecte solidaire pour "jeter utile".
En effet, plutôt que de jeter des objets pouvant avoir une « seconde vie », vous pourrez donner mobilier, matériel informatique, vêtements, électroménager, bibelots, jouets, livres... en bon état et réutilisables.

Dans le cadre de son exposition temporaire Les Iapodes, peuple méconnu. Trésors du musée archéologique de Zagreb, le site archéologique Lattara-musée Henri Prades de Montpellier Agglomération reçoit demain, jeudi 15 mai, à 18h30 Corinne ROUSSE, maître de conférence à l'Université Aix-Marseille, pour une conférence gratuite sur le thème "De l'huile et du profit! Loron, une grande propriété romaine sur la côte d'Istrie (Croatie)".
A l'occasion du 1er dimanche du mois de mai, les musées de Montpellier Agglomération ouvrent gratuitement les portes de leurs collections ce dimanche 4 mai 2014, aux horaires d'ouverture habituels.
Musée Fabre
A l'occasion du 1er dimanche du mois, les collections permanentes du musée Fabre de Montpellier Agglomération (de 10h à 18h), et son département des Arts décoratifs, l'Hôtel de Cabrières-Sabatier d'Espeyran, (de 14h à 18h) sont accessibles gratuitement. Des animations inédites sont proposées pour l'occasion.
